At Queen de mi Corazón we praise, celebrate, and love Chingonas every day, but now Fridays are dedicated to shining a spotlight on Latinas rocking it here in the US.
Meet Paola Pimienta; she is the current Queen of the Union of Charro Association in Washington. Paola is a talented rider and escaramuza and proudly represents Mexican Charrería most beautifully and elegantly.
Charrería is a highly competitive event, rich in sportmanship and traditions. It is one of Mexico's most beautiful sports events. An escaramuza is a group of eight women who ride simultaneously and perform a carefully crafted choreography on horseback. Like charros, escaramuzas also do tricks with their horses and compete to prove their abilities as riders.
We had the opportunity to talk with her recently and asked her a couple of real questions to get to know her a little better
Where are you from?
Mexican American born and raised in Snohomish, WA.
What's your favorite taco of all time?
Tacos de lengua with everything! 🤣
What's your go-to emoji?
🧡
To someone who has never been to Mexico, what place would you recommend they visit for the first time?
Zacatecas, Zacatecas! One of my favorite places, it looks like you're in a movie.
Paola is a beautiful, joyful spirit, that loves sharing her love for horses, Mexican traditions, and friendship. She is a wonderful representation of Mexican values and traditions crossing borders and flourishing in a new land—a place where we come together as a community and bond over sports, tacos, and friendships.
